So I’ll start by saying I LOVE MY iPHONE. It’s the best phone I’ve ever had, full stop. And then on top of that, it’s a great app platform.
The one downside: iTunes. Crummy, crummy, crummy. Say what you will about their hardware, Apple still hasn’t figured out good software.
Examples: as you navigate forward and back through your iTunes collection, does the ‘back’ mouse button go back one navigation? No, it plays the previous song in your playlist. Unlike every other app on the planet. CTRL+SCROLL does nothing. You can’t select a bunch of songs from your music collection and then drag them into a playlist – you have to use the File menu to create a new playlist for them (there’s not even a useful context menu available).
And what’s this? Really, Apple? Is this how you sort numbers? Really?
1, 3, 5, 6, 10, 2, 4? Really? (clicking on the column header inverts the order to 4, 2, 10, 6, 5, 3, 1).
Even their hardware doesn’t get it right: on my iPhone the album order is 2, 4, 1, 3, 5, 6, 10.
Whatever, Apple. At least the music sounds good when it plays, and the device it’s playing on looks good. Because iTunes sucks.
